Have not posted in a while here, but thought would talk about this one. Always enjoy taking a stab at designing something for the state. I have always loved the sign that greets people as they drive into the state, those colors, so good. So took and developed this idea out more. Including Chimney Rock and that orange sunset. See what else i come up with on this one. Stay tuned. Enjoy.
Wheat Stamp
What a year 2020 was, am I right? Yikes. Has been crazy, but so far so good ( thank goodness ) as we might be starting to pull out of this crazy time. Been busy working, but just wanted to post a stamp design I developed the other day. Would LOVE to have this made into a real stamp, but not sure if I will get my opportunity or not, so any contact info at the USPS would be EPIC, or put in a good word for me. ;) Just wanted to share it with you all. Hope you all are doing well, and we will see how the rest of this pans out! Cheers!
Home
I know it has been a while since I posted to the Notes. Just have had one heck of a year so far, which I know we all have. Crazy times. I hope all of you are staying safe out there. Still getting work done around here, getting the day to day stuff done, but staying above water. Was super stoked to hit 3000 vectors, give or take (ha). Still putting them out there, still creating and making. Alright, back at it, so you all stay safe, home up and we will get thru this all! Cheers!
The Masters
I have always enjoyed watching The Masters, one of my favorite tournaments. I had a thought the other day, what if could take a crack at that logo. So I know the history of The Masters and the heritage, but just wanted to give it a modern spine an updated look. I wanted to keep the elements of the original logo, to pay homage to that great logo, but wanted to simplify it. So what I came up with is what you see above. I like how it turned out, and then took it a step further to apply it to different applications, i.e. one color and a pin flag. So I know they will not change it, and I get it, I wanted to challenge myself. Take on those challenges, set yourself some goals and put them out there, something might come of it. Cheers, and hope this Masters tournament is a good one. Cheers!
Logo Refresh
It has been a while since I posted here, but thought I would start back in with a refresh and update to the old logo. I have been thinking about this one for a while. It is a heavy one. I wanted to keep it simple and also work well in social media outlets. Also I wanted to update the colors. So on this version, that I landed on, wanted to include the moon in some fashion. I will be developing a word mark to go with this, so stay tuned. Hopefully this will take flight and do well. Thanks for stoping by and will try and get back to posting more. Keep on making.
PRINTS FOR SALE
Go check out my store front, I have some new prints for sale! They are limited edition of 10, so act fast! Cheers!
ARC*
Been busy around here. Trying to get things wrapped up before the end of the year. I really appreciate the good vibes everyone has been sending my way! Been a crazy good year. I hope you all are enjoying my vectors! Keep working! I like how this one turned out, ARC*. An outdoor brand for adventures and extreme conditions. Wanted to use the Polar Bear for it is one tough cookie to take on those elements - the rest feel into place! Hopefully more to come! Welp, back at it! Keep pushing those pixels! Cheers.
DRAPLIN IN THE MIDWEST
Had the chance to hang out and catch up with Aaron when he came to town for a couple of shows! He gave a great talk at Swanson Russell and the Waiting Room up in Omaha! Good times! Always a good time and fires me back up to get to work! Dude is a true inspiration! THANKS Aaron! Cheers!
RIFF SURF CO.
I was able to to spend some time on the island for a little R and R and was able to reset the gears and clear the mind. So cool to be on island time, wow, such a cool place! Might have to make it back out there for sure. Welp, with all that ocean air, got inspired to come up with some new concepts for Riff Surf Co. This was inspired by the many palm trees that I saw. Keep up the work and keep making, ALOHA!
GAS STATIONS
I have always like looking at old photos of gas stations. They are all so unique in their construction and had so much character, back in the day, that you don't see anymore. I have done a couple of vector rounds of some stations, and we will see if I continue the series. But just wanted to post the current one I did. Always pushing pixels! Keep up the good work y'all and back at it! Cheers!
TACO SHOP
I love me some tacos! So what better way then to come up with a taco food van branding! I wanted this to be a very chill brand and serve some good tacos! Would be awesome if this would come to life! Anyway, back to work -- Cheers and eat more tacos!
Seagull
Busy these summer nights! Oh where the time goes! But keep on making and pushing through those deadlines! Here is a nice one that I sketched out the other day! Have to evelop it more, but thinking of turning this into a coffee company on the coast. Alright, back at it! Cheers!
Australia on the Mind
Here is to one of the many places I would love to visit. It has been on my bucket list for a very long time! So I just wanted to vector something to put my mind in to thinking that I will get there one day! Enjoy!
UNL
It has been a while since I have posted out here, but I have been super busy. But hopefully can get back to posting some updated work and some cool stuff. But for right now just wanted to post this UNL re-Brand I did the other day. I really like how it turned out. Wanted to do something clean and simple, but yet give that university feel. I had started this in my Field Notes, as a quick sketch out, and then turned it loose on the computer. I walked through a few different executions of the logo, plus some collateral pieces and outdoor signage. Even threw in a couple of pennants for good measure. This was fun, and would be a dream project, if I were ever to get this for real. Well, back to work, but enjoy and check out the rest of the case study in my work section. Cheers!
PEACE!
I know it has been a while since I have posted here, but have been a busy bee! But just wanted to post something to say, with the times they are now, stay cool, share the peace, we will get through this together! Now back to work! Cheers!
RIP Arnold Palmer
This one is for him. The legend, the King!
Happy National Ice Cream Sandwich Day
Cheers to the one the great weaknesses of mine! Celebrate in style and enjoy!
Good Bindings Co.
I wanted to develop a snowboard binding company and did some thinking and landed on Good Bindings Co. I wanted something short, but also catchy. So I wrote down a lot of words and the letter G really stuck for some reason. Then I started to sketch out a logo and the one thing that started surfacing to the top was the bolt that helps stick the binding to the board, started become a letter G. So I soon said to myself, well this logo has to round and in the shape of the bolt. Added a little bit of a twist and boom, got something. I want to develop more of this brand further, so stay tuned. Shred it up!
State Museum
Now this one was just a spur of them moment project, created by myself. I was doing research of the state and the mammoth bones that were discovered in the state, and I stumbled upon the State Museum logo of Moral Hall on campus at UNL. I took a minute and was like, you know what, how about giving that little guy a refresher. So I simplified it and did some negative space work and what you see is above. The classic logo has a full mammoth in detail, but I wanted to simplify it a bit. Of course incorporate the red of the University and the N to round it all out. So we will see if I can get any traction with this one. Keep exploring!
World's Largest Covered Wagon
Here is a fun fact about Nebraska. We have the World's Largest Covered Wagon. Yep that is right and it is near my alma mater! Right along the interstate. Though it has seen better days, and is a golf cart shop, it still is standing. I think it is important to recognize the landmarks from the state in which you grew up in. It is cool to explore the state, but gives you total respect of what the state has to offer. If you ever find yourself rolling through the state, you will have to check it out. Nebraska, the good life! Enjoy.
